The Hybrid Multisampler is an HPLC injector that offers both classical flow-through injection and Agilent Feed Injection modes. In classic flow-through mode, the mobile phase delivered by the HPLC or UHPLC pump flows through the loaded sample loop. In Feed Injection mode, the HPLC sample is continuously infused into the mobile phase stream. This series includes the 1290 Infinity III Hybrid Multisampler with biocompatible sample flow path and 1260 Infinity III Hybrid Multisampler.

The Hybrid Multisamplers are well-suited for samples with strong solvents, such as those prepared using QuEChERS in food analysis due to the challenging sample solvent effects, leading to peak breakthrough and poor peak shapes, especially as injection volumes increase. It inherently allows for higher injection volumes without compromising chromatographic performance, which is crucial for detecting PFAS at ultratrace levels.

Agilent Feed Injection mode in Hybrid Multisamplers can mediate strong sample solvent effects by mixing HPLC sample and mobile phase directly at injection to improve peak shapes and sensitivity. By using Feed Injection mode, there is no need for extra sample preparation, and peak shapes enable easy peak integration.
